RESTYLANE and JUVEDERM®
In the 1930s, researchers discovered hyaluronic acid, and found that it plays a key role in numerous areas
of the body including the maintenance of skin volume and hydration, eye volume and shape, as well as joint lubrication and cushioning.
In the decades since, numerous therapeutic and aesthetic uses have been developed for this versatile natural substance. In 2003, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Restylane for the correction of facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the folds running from the sides of the bottom of the nose to the outer corners of the mouth).
Both JUVEDERM® and Restylane are hyaluronic acid which is a substance the body uses to plump and cushion skin and other tissues.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component found in the body.
During treatment tiny amounts of gel is injected under the wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothed out.
They used to contour and fill lips, smooth the wrinkles and add lost volume in the face.
JUVEDERM is made by ALLERGAN, the company which also makes BOTOX, and is used to restore your skin’s volume and smooth facial wrinkles and folds.
RESTYLANE is made in Sweden. Since 1996, more than a million people have been successfully treated in more than 60 countries worldwide.
After your Treatment, it is common to experience some temporary flaking or scaling, redness and dryness of the skin. However, these conditions will disappear as the skin adjusts to treatment.
